Every Friday Night from 5:30 to 6:30, Silvercreek offers their "Bar Bites Appetizers" for half-price, and event entitled 'Appy Hour. Last Friday night I grabbed my date and decided to check it out. Here's what I surmised: This Friday night you should grab YOUR date and check it out.
Silvercreek's bar bites are not your standard bar fare. We ordered 3 plates to split:
Pommes frittes, hand cut shoestring potatoes with sea salt and roasted garlic aioli for dipping.
Pork wings, in a golden barbecue sauce.
And a luscious Shrimp Cocktail.
We were melting with every bite we ate, and 3 appetizers ended up being enough food for us to call it dinner.
The grand total for all of the food we ordered: $10.00!!
Think about that! The two of us couldn't have gotten out of any greasy fast food joint in town for $10.
To boot, there was live music, The David Howie Live Jukebox Show! Howie was singing hits and favorites from over from the last 4 decades, at the requests of the 'Appy Hour guests.
The bartender was one busy lady while we were there. I watched her making this Bloody Mary, and remembered that Silvercreek makes their own Bloody Mary Mix.We had already placed our drink orders, but next time I'm going for the Friday night Bloody Mary!
Our beverage of choice, this time? Beer. There's over 100 to choose from, and I decided to go wild and try one called Moose Drool. Big Sky Brewing Moose Drool Brown Ale, to be exact. I like a good dark beer in the wintertime, and this one was dark and very smooth. My Mister ordered a Kolsch from the Schlafly brewery, in St. Louis. We've visited that brewery and restaurant many times, so he knew this would be a winner.
We had a great time, with great food and drinks. I know I'm supposed to mix up the blog topics as I write, but I really want to come back this Friday night to try a few more of the Bar Bites. They're affordable, delicious, and a really fun way to wrap up a long week!
Click HERE for the entire Bar Bite menu. Keep in mind the prices you pay Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 are half of what you'll see here.
Oooo, I'm thinking Tenderloin sliders...
